Applicant must be sixteen (16) and not more than twenty four (24) years of age on February 2012.
Applicant must reside in the city of South Gate, attend school in South Gate, or be employed in the city of South Gate throughout entire reign.
Applicant must be single, never have been married or pregnant or have children and must remain unmarried and without children throughout the entire reign.
Applicant must provide proof of age in the form of a photo ID.
Applicant must be able to attend all rehearsals and Contestant events prior to the pageant date in February 2012.
Application and application fee ($25.00) must be submitted by November 30, 2011.
Applicant must participate in the pre pageant interview in order to be considered as a contestant in the Miss South Gate Pageant.
Applicant must be able to commit to the duties of the Miss South Gate Courtthroughout her reign. The Miss South Gate 2012 Court will be asked to sign a contract for the year of their reign which spells out awards won as well as responsibilities of the court. If the contract is not signed the member of the court forfeits her title and awards. Responsibilities of the court include scheduled events sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, City of South Gateand the Parks and Recreation Department. If at any time during her reign a member of the court is unable to fulfill her duties she will be relieved of her title and duties.
Members of the current Miss South Gate Court (2011) may not compete in the Miss South Gate 2012 Pageant.
Individuals may compete a maximum of two times for the title of Miss South Gate.
Judging will be based on (1) judges interview (2) evening gown and (4) on-stage final question.
